Understanding Your Motorcycle Coverage

Your policy contract describes your coverage, its limits, and the vehicle the policy covers. This article is meant to help you better understand your contract and answer any questions you may have regarding your contract.

This article applies to Autrella and Discount ESP policy holders, regardless of the type of vehicle that’s being covered.

Coverage Information

The coverage information section on your contract describes the type of plan you purchased and any additional optional coverages you may have purchased.

✅ What Is Covered

When a covered repair is needed before your agreement expires and the deductible (per repair visit) has been paid, the Selling Dealer or Authorized Repair Facility will make necessary repairs to the vehicle.

  • Replacement parts may be new, used, remanufactured, or non-OEM, at the Administrator’s discretion.

  • Coverage includes components listed under “What Is Covered” in your plan and that were originally covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

  • Exclusions are listed in the “What Is Not Covered” section below.

❌ What Is Not Covered

Your Extended Service Agreement does not cover the following:

General Exclusions

  • Any item not listed under “What Is Covered” in your specific plan

  • Incidental or consequential damage such as:

    • Property damage

    • Personal injury

    • Inconvenience

    • Loss of vehicle use

    • Damage from a covered part to a non-covered part (or vice versa)


Vehicle Use Exclusions

  • Vehicles used for:

    • Towing (unless specifically approved)

    • Delivery or emergency purposes

  • Vehicles with unapproved aftermarket modifications or accessories that may impact performance (unless additional coverage was purchased)

  • Racing, contests of speed, or exceeding weight limits for passengers, cargo, or towing as defined by the manufacturer


Environmental or External Damage

  • Damage from:

    • Accidents, collisions, glass breakage

    • Fire, theft, flood, mold, rust, or corrosion

    • Natural disasters (earthquakes, lightning, hail, etc.)

    • Contamination (chemical, nuclear, foreign objects)

    • Vandalism, civil unrest, or any event covered by insurance


Warranty & Regulatory Exclusions

  • Breakdowns covered by:

    • Manufacturer’s warranty, recall, or service campaign

    • Other warranties or insurance (e.g., repairer’s guarantee, road clubs)

  • EPA emissions-related parts (if still under EPA time/mileage warranty)


Maintenance-Related Exclusions

  • Damage from:

    • Sludge buildup or contaminated fluids

    • Incorrect or missing fluids/lubricants

    • Failure to follow required maintenance schedule

  • Gradual wear such as:

    • Oil consumption

    • Loss of compression

    • Cylinder wear

    • Performance decline due to aging (especially for used vehicles)

  • Damage caused by continuing to drive the vehicle after a failure has occurred or ignoring a known issue


🛠 Non-Covered Parts

The following parts are not covered under any circumstance:

  • Exterior & Body: Frame (except for integral oil/fuel tanks), windshield, body panels, trim, fairings (unless Touring Package is included), paint, sidecar (unless listed in Touring Package)

  • Lighting & Electrical: Lightbulbs, sealed beams, lenses, mirrors, antenna mast, cellular telephone, audio wiring, speakers, glass

  • Mechanical: Clutch basket, bearings, hub, plates, springs, final drive chain/belt, rear sprocket

  • Miscellaneous: Spark plugs and wires, brake pads, battery, fuses, hoses, belts, fasteners, mufflers, filters, tires, wheels, spokes (unless Tire & Wheel coverage is purchased), trailer hitch, upholstery


🚫 Non-Covered Services

These services are considered routine maintenance or cosmetic and are not covered:

  • Alignment

  • Carbon/sludge/varnish removal

  • Cooling system cleaning

  • Fuel system cleaning

  • Transmission service

  • Engine tune-up

  • Water leak correction

  • Squeaks and rattle fixes

  • Wheel balancing or spoke adjustments (unless part of optional tire/wheel coverage)

  • Fluid top-offs or replacements (unless tied to a covered repair)

  • Ignition or fuel system calibration/adjustments


💰 Limits of Liability

  • Total payout under this agreement will not exceed the retail sale price of your vehicle (excluding tax, title, and license).

  • For any single repair, payout is limited to the vehicle’s actual cash value just prior to the breakdown.

    • Valuation is based on the most recent NADA Used Vehicle Appraisal Guide.
